Our 2024 Fundraiser is now live

It’s that time of year again: our 2024 Fundraiser is now live and our accompanying physical challenge is less than a month away! This year we’ve decided to do things differently. Instead of me and Ryan taking on a physical challenge alone, we’re inviting all of you to join us!

The Zone 7 24-Hour Trek will take place on May 4, 2024 and the mission is simple: log as many miles on foot as you can in 24 hours. There’s no pressure to take this to the extremes — we expect that the majority of participants will simply go for a walk or hike, or maybe run a couple miles. Regardless of how much distance you intend to cover, you’ll get your own fundraising page where your friends and family can donate a flat amount or pledge a per-mile donation. On top of that, all participants will have a chance to win a prize package of Zone 7 gear, gifts from our sponsors, and products we love, valued at over $500.

As a reminder, all donations are tax-deductible and support our ongoing community projects. Our scholarship program is entering its fourth year, and we’ve again received a record number of applications. We continue to place an emphasis on health screenings for the unhoused population, and we’ll be presenting this work at the International Street Medicine Symposium in September. Our health education branch has grown substantially and now operates regular workshops at local schools and community centers. We also continue to post regularly on the blog and on our social media channels, aiming to make medical science a bit more digestible.

New this year, we’re excited to launch the Zone 7 Jumpstart Program, our transitional living program that aims to support unsheltered young adults. As part of the program, individuals will be provided shelter and assistance with food, transportation, and the pursuit of work or further education. We’re excited to learn throughout this process, and hope that one day this program can serve as a blueprint for how to affordably and sustainably change the lives of at-risk young adults.

If you’re able to join us for the Trek on May 4th, we’d greatly appreciate your support! You can participate from anywhere in the world, and your participation can be as simple as going for a 5 minute walk. If you’re not up for making the trek yourself but still want to contribute to our work, you can donate via our PledgeIt campaign or at zone7.io/donate. We’re so grateful for your ongoing support, and can’t wait to get moving with you all in a few weeks!
